Laclair Avenue Community Garden (LaCCG)

Three empty lots on Laclair Ave, 1400 block. With 20 plus years of bonzai tree gardening, and 4 years of vegetable gardening. A committee of 6-8 neighbors and friends from the Regent Square communities has been formed, and is seeking to find a nearby non-profit organization to hold ownership in the future. The committee has also obtained a 3rd party appraisal, and submitted a proposal to the Allegheny Land Trust, via TRALI and Grow Pittsburgh for funding to purchase the lots from the existing owner. The adjacent CLASS organization is interested in using the lots for outdoor gardening and community engagement programs, but has declined to accept ownership. The committee is currently asking the Wilkins School Community Center to consider ownership. It is also inquiring with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and intends to inquire with Upstream as well.
