In 2006, The Frick Pittsburgh approached Grow Pittsburgh, offering the use of their beautiful, Victorian Frick Greenhouse. We began the partnership in 2007, renovating the greenhouse beds for food production.
Every year, we use organic growing practices to produce vegetable, herb, and flower seedlings at the Frick greenhouse. We sell these seedlings to the public from late April through mid-June, during the hours The Frick is open.
The Frick grounds are free and open to the public. Visitors are welcome to tour the greenhouse year-round.
Produce from the Frick greenhouse is sold through multiple outlets including our weekly, seasonal farm stand at Shiloh Farm, directly to the Café at the Frick, and to other area restaurants and individuals through our membership with Penn’s Corner Farm Alliance.
