Conference invites gardeners to connect to their roots

The American Community Gardening Association is hosting “CONNecting to Our Roots,” its 38th national conference July 27-30 in Hartford, CT. The 2017 conference lineup includes workshops, panels, film screenings and full-day excursions to nearby community farms and urban agriculture programs, and a gala.

Grow Pittsburgh’s Community Garden Program Manager Rayden Sorock recommends the experience. “The ACGA annual conference is a great chance to build connections to growing projects across the county and be inspired. The ACGA provides resources to community gardens like grant opportunities and educational materials,” says Sorock.

This will be the second time Sorock presents at the conference. “This will be my third time attending the conference. I’m excited to present a workshop focused on the community organizing side of community gardening,” says Sorock.
