The Lots of Green – Bike and Bus Garden Tour is an event co-hosted by GTECH Strategies and Grow Pittsburgh to connect individuals to community greening projects.  Tour goers have the opportunity to experience everything from a full scale urban farm in Braddock, a city hop yard in Garfield, an 88-bed community P2020-014 garden in the South Side, a recycled play yard in East Liberty as well as other projects in Homewood, Larimer, Lawrenceville, Homestead, Wilkinsburg and Millvale.

The event  N10-005 will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in conjunction with Bike PGH’s annual Bike Fest.  The tours will be starting throughout the morning and early afternoon and will end with an after party from 12:00-5:00 pm at our office building at 9L0-625 6587 Hamilton Avenue in the heart of Larimer.

Bike and Bus Tour Information:

There will be two guided bike routes offered: a 32 mile route leaving at 9:00 am and a 2.5-7 mile route leaving at 10:00 am.

The 1.5 hour bus tour will be leaving at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm. N0-120  Each route will have plenty of stops to give participants time to talk with community gardeners, to tour each garden, and to learn more about the neighborhood and site.

The tours will leave and return from our parking lot – 6587 Hamilton Ave, PGH, PA 15206.  We’ll be signing in people and registering new riders an hour prior to each tour.

Ticket to Ride:

The cost of the ride is $10, which includes either a guided bike or bus tour and entry to the after-party.

Join us afterwards to enjoy East End Brewery beer (including root beer), local food vendors such as Marty’s Market, Rob’s Awesome Italian Ice and vegan baked goodies. We’ll have fresh beets spun by DJ J. Malls as well as fun activities.  All are welcome to attend the after party – even those who did not participate in the tour.
