Grow Pittsburgh is looking for board members to expand our Board of Directors. The Board of Directors at Grow Pittsburgh has the following expectations:

  • PARTICIPATION: Interpret the organization’s work and values to the community, represent the organization, and act as a spokesperson; Attend at least 75% of board meetings (held every other month), committee meetings, and special events; Be part of the membership of the organization.
  • GOVERNANCE: Act in the best interests of the organization; Make decisions on issues, policies and other board matters; Formulate and approve annual budget; Undergo personnel evaluation of executive leadership.
  • FUNDRAISING/FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Financially support Grow Pittsburgh in a manner commensurate with one’s ability; Actively participate in one or more fundraising activities.
  • EXTERNAL RELATIONS: Stay informed about organizational matters; Help communicate and promote Grow Pittsburgh mission and programs to the community.

Length of term for a Grow Pittsburgh board member is two years, which may be renewed pending approval of the board.
