This year we’re partnering with Dancing Gnome Brewery to help you get in the gardening spirit. We’re pleased to announce a monthly Garden Tool beer series, proceeds of which support Grow Pittsburgh.

Hori Hori is the third beer in our collaboration with Dancing Gnome brewery. Each month our collaboration will feature a beer named after a garden tool. The beer is accompanied with educational information provided by us and the can artwork highlights by Camp Copeland Studio. Whether you have acres outside of the city, some raised beds in the suburbs, or a small porch set up in the city, we want to give you the tools you need to succeed. Learn more about the tools and try out these new beers which are available for a limited time.

About the beer:  Hori Hori is the third beer in the 2022 Garden Tool series with Grow Pittsburgh.  This 6.2% IPA was brewed with healthy portions of three different types of rye to showcase the effect the grain has on this hazy IPA. Hopped with Mosaic, Enigma, Amarillo, and Columbus, you can expect a whirlwind of white peach, summer berry, sticky tangerine, and ultra dank resin.

About the tool: The hori hori is a Japanese garden knife with a unique blend of digging and cutting features. It is versatile in its uses and a go-to for transplanting seedlings or planting bulbs or garlic. The measured marks on the blade and handle aid in achieving the perfect planting depth.

You can find the tools featured in this collaboration at our Garden Resource Center, which is now open for the season.
