Summer means no school! No school means we don’t have classrooms of gardeners to care for our Edible Schoolyard gardens. That’s where you come in!

Please join us if you are available for some garden care at Pittsburgh Faison. Friends are welcome. It takes a village to maintain a school garden in the summertime!

We’ll be working Thursday, June 26th from 9:00-11:30 a.m. and again Friday, July 11th from 9:00-11:30 a.m. at Faison Elementary (7430 Tioga Street, Pittsburgh 15208).

Bring a full water bottle, closed-toed shoes, comfortable layers, sunscreen, and your favorite work gloves if you have a pair! Gloves, tools, and snacks will be provided. We’ll remove weeds, turn compost, perform simple garden maintenance and expose raspberries and flowers.

If you’re able to help, please RSVP to Maria Bowman, ESY Program Manager, at maria(at)growpittsburgh.org or 412-362-4769 x112.
