Join Grow Pittsburgh for an introductory workshop that will discuss what foods should be pressure canned, how pressure canning works, and safety while pressure canning. Participants will leave this workshop with a basic understanding of how pressure canners work, when to pressure can vs. water bath can, basic safety guidelines for pressure canning, and where to find recipes and tips.
Modern pressure canners are much safer to use in home kitchens than they used to be, and pressure canning can be a great way to preserve your summer harvest! Pressure canning is the only safe way to can low-acid foods like veggies, meat, or stock.
