Organic Gardening Basics for Community Gardens
March 19 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm$10
Join us for a quick & dirty on organic gardening geared towards folks who are managing or participating in community gardens. We’ll cover the most essential gardening basics:
- soil health
- pests and diseases
- garden planning
- tips for watering, weeding and mulching
We’ll bring it home to topics specific to community gardens:
- low-maintenance growing strategies
- gardening in tight spaces
- managing communal crops
This workshop is an opportunity to hear from Grow Pittsburgh’s Community Projects team, share your own experiences, connect with other community gardeners, and share community gardening methods that you’ve tried. You’re welcome to attend whether you’re dreaming about a future community garden or entering another year as a seasoned community gardener–or anywhere in between.
Check out the other workshops in our “How to Start a Community Garden” series!
Grow Pittsburgh’s “How to Start a Community Garden” resources were originally created for new garden groups, but are now meant for both new and experienced community gardeners. Folks in all stages of community garden work have found them to be helpful.
