As the weather warms up, Braddock Farms manager Marshall Hart has been busy!

Many visitors have stopped by Braddock Farms, including chefs from the Parkhurst restaurant group, the produce department from Marty’s Market, and children from Fairless Elementary School in North Braddock! Some of the sights to see include a recently-completed, in-ground worm bin. Worms are happily munching away on food waste. Their castings will provide a rich compost to use at Braddock Farms year-round.

Braddock Farms is part of a no-till study being conducted by PASA. The hairy vetch cover crop planted as part of the study will soon be chopped down and have cherry tomatoes planted there. Additionally, seedling production at Braddock Farms has increased thanks to a greenhouse on the roof of the future Superior Motors building.
