Volunteers play a key role in supporting Grow Pittsburgh’s work and mission. We are always excited to get people involved in the task of building a stronger and more sustainable community.

 

Please check our Volunteer Jobs page to register for available individual volunteer opportunities. For all volunteer jobs with Grow Pittsburgh, be sure to dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and wear closed-toe shoes. Bring water and sun protection.

 

Braddock Farms
Volunteers at Braddock Farms perform a variety of tasks depending on the season. Braddock Farms can accept up to 12 volunteers at a time. The third Saturday of every month is a Monthly Volunteer Project work day. To schedule a workday on another day, contact Braddock Farms Manager Marshall Hart at marshall@growpittsburgh.org.

Community Gardens
Community gardens need the support of individuals living in the communities where they are located. Work days are generally on Saturdays in April, May, and October. For more information about community garden needs near you, contact Community Garden Manager Rayden Sorock at rayden@growpittsburgh.org.

Frick Greenhouse
Volunteer needs at the Frick are limited during the summer months. For specific opportunities, contact Greenhouse and Shiloh www.health-canada-pharmacy.com Farms Manager Nick Lubecki at nick@growpittsburgh.org.

School Garden Program
Volunteers will be needed starting in June to help maintain school gardens throughout the summer. Check the Volunteer Jobs to sign up starting in May. For school specific volunteer jobs including assisting with lessons, contact School Garden Coordinator Eva Barinas at eva@growpittsburgh.org.

Shiloh Farm
Volunteers are welcome at the monthly work day on the second Wednesday of each month to help with general farm maintenance.  This opportunity is limited to 6 participants. Corporate Groups
Grow Pittsburgh has volunteer opportunities for corporate and university partners. Groups of 12 or fewer are welcome to sign up for the Monthly Volunteer Project on the 3rd Saturday of the month at Braddock Farms.
