In June, we’re taking a field trip to Natrona Heights, PA—about 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh—where owner operator Megan Gallagher started be.wild.er farm in 2016. This 2 acre market farm utilizes pollinator strips and people power, “relying on mostly hand tools and a small walk-behind tractor.” Their jaw-dropping veggie displays are a staple at the Bloomfield Farmers Market, and they offer a unique after-market CSA to reduce food waste and feed more folks. “This scale keeps us close to what we’re growing and those we’re feeding, and allows us to focus on quality and customer satisfaction.”
