The Black Urban Gardeners and Farmers of Pittsburgh Co-op” was created out of the need to unite black urban agriculturalist in the Pittsburgh area for support and to dismantle the systemic racism that infiltrates our communities to further improvised already oppress people.
The Black Urban Gardeners and Farmers of Pittsburgh Co-op has the support of the residents of Monticello Street (the physical location of our farm, as well as many of the Homewood community residents and trusting in and supporting our gifts and talents for the advancement of our community. We continue to garner continues community support through our outreach and community engagement Our urban farm, The Homewood Historical Community Farm is located across the street from PPS Westinghouse Academy 6-12 and is on 31 thousand square feet on property.
