Community Farm Land is gardened collectively by volunteers, where produce is shared among volunteers or donated. Includes food pantry, gardens, and food forests.
Volunteers are welcome.
Mission Statement: A real, simple garden that welcomes everyone, grows responsibly, generously gives, and endlessly educates.
Established 2015
Project Partners: Borough of Crafton, Crafton Parks and Shade Tree Commission, Allegheny Grows Program of Grow Pittsburgh, Crafton Ingram Food Pantry, Carlynton High School, and Crafton Library.
We have open gardening with garden leaders May through October on Sundays from 10am 12pm, Tuesdays 7-8pm, Thursdays from 5:30pm-dark, and by appointment when the park is open. We have a harvest potluck in October and group work sessions in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.
Our produce is available to our volunteers and donated to the food pantry.
Volunteers can email craftoncommunityfarm@gmail.com, find us on Facebook, or call 412 303 4409 for more information.
Our project site also hosts educational workshops, potluck picnics, tours on Thursday evenings in the summer and 4th of July weekend.
We grow in raised beds in a 60 x 90′ fenced in area, perennial border surrounding fence, small, new fruit tree orchard nearby, native pollinator garden, with plans to expand plantings!
