Community Farm Land is gardened collectively by volunteers and sometimes paid staff, where produce is shared among volunteers, donated, and/or sold for no profit. Includes food pantry, gardens, and food forests.
Volunteers are welcome.
Mission Statement: A real, simple garden that welcomes everyone, grows responsibly, generously gives, and endlessly educates.
Established 2015
Project Partners: Borough of Crafton, Crafton Parks and Shade Tree Commission, Allegheny Grows Program of Grow Pittsburgh, Crafton Ingram Food Pantry, and Carlynton High School
The growing space typically operates May through October on Sundays from 10am 12pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm-8:30pm. And anytime the park is open. We have Workshops/Potluck at 6pm the fourth Friday of each month.
Our produce is available to our volunteers and donated to the food pantry.
Volunteers can email craftoncommunityfarm@gmail.com, find us on Facebook, or call 412 303 4409 for more information.
Our project site also hosts educational workshops, potluck picnics, tours on Thursday evenings in the summer, 4th of July weekend, and by appointment.
We grow in raised beds in a 60 x 90′ fenced in area, perennial border surrounding fence, small, new fruit tree orchard nearby, with plans to expand plantings!
