Check in weekly, on Wednesdays, to read our new post on gardening, harvesting, and making use of that fine, extra-local produce! We’ll share tips and techniques, gleaned from our urban farms and gardens. Email info@growpittsburgh.org with any topics you’d like us to cover.

Every year, Grow Pittsburgh offers our naturally- and locally-grown seedlings for sale. We love providing area gardeners with unique varieties of high-quality seedlings, and this year we are pleased to have culled all Monsanto varieties from our offerings. Mark your calendars, because the sale starts this Tues. April 21, at the Frick Greenhouse, where the seedlings are grown. We’ll be offering cool season crops like most herbs, cooking greens, onions, and leeks at first, and by April 28 we’ll have all the warm season favorites like tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, and zucchini.

You can also find our seedlings at the May Market at Phipps Conservatory on Mother’s Day weekend, at the Urban Gardener in the North Side, and at Nature’s Way in Greensburg.

Here are photo pages of the tomatoes and other vegetable and flower crops that we’ll offer this year, and here’s a link to a list of all the seedlings we’ll have available. For more information, check out our website.
