This year we’re partnering with Dancing Gnome Brewery to help you get in the gardening spirit. We’re pleased to announce a monthly Garden Tool beer series, proceeds of which support Grow Pittsburgh.

The Garden Claw is fourth in the beer series from our collaboration with the Dancing Gnome brewery.  If you missed the firstsecond, or the third beer don’t fret, there are more on the way! Each month our collaboration will feature a beer named after a garden tool, with the information provided by us and the can artwork by Camp Copeland Studio. Whether you have acres outside of the city, some raised beds in the suburbs, or a small porch set up in the city, we want to give you the tools you need to succeed, so learn more about the tools and try out new beers available for a limited time.

Dancing Gnome’s description of the beer: This 6% IPA was brewed with healthy portions of three different types of oats to showcase the effect the grain has on this hazy IPA. Hopped with Citra, Centennial, Cashmere, and Columbus, you can expect a waterfall of fresh grapefruit, sticky resin, and lemon-lime swirl. Order your beer here.

About the tool: Garden Claws come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are used to cultivate and aerate compacted soil and blend in compost or other soil amendments. They can be especially useful in raised beds or container gardens where larger, heavier tools can’t go.

You can find the tools featured in this collaboration at our Garden Resource Center, which re-opened for the season on March 19.
