Free Soil Lead Screening
October 22 - October 23
Bring your soil to the Garden Resource Center to have it tested for lead and arsenic by the Allegheny County Conservation District. These two contaminants are common in urban soil, and are bad for health, so it’s always good to check the soil in your yard and garden areas to be safe.
We have two drop off windows for soil samples: Friday Oct. 22 from 3-6pm, and Saturday Oct. 23 from 10-1pm.
After you register, we will contact you with detailed instructions on how to prepare, label, and drop off your soil samples. Results will be sent to you within two weeks, along with information to help you understand and act on your results.
