Join the Allegheny County Conservation District and partners on August 19th to learn why soil lead contamination is a serious problem in Wilkinsburg and a potential risk to children and gardeners. Bring a properly collected, dry soil sample from your yard or garden and we will screen it for lead and other heavy metals instantly and free of charge. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on cleanup and remediation strategies. Stick around for a community celebration featuring raffles, workshops, a harvest swap and other fun activities!
