For all opportunities with Grow Pittsburgh, be sure to dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water and sun protection.
Volunteer or Tour a Grow Pittsburgh Production Site
NOTICE: Following CDC recommendations of social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not taking tours or volunteers at any of our sites at this time.
Choose between our largest production site at Braddock Farms, see what’s possible on an urban city lot at Shiloh Farm, or come and see our greenhouse production at the historic Frick Pittsburgh Greenhouse.
Volunteer in our School Garden Program
School garden volunteers provide valuable support to Garden Educators in the classroom and with garden tasks. Individuals may volunteer outside during the growing season, as well as during our winter cooking program.

Note: Individuals interested in volunteering in our School Garden Program must have clearances to work with children in the state of PA. No teaching experience is required. Some gardening experience preferred.
Volunteer at the Garden Resource Center
The Garden Resource Center is seeking individuals who want to volunteer on an ongoing basis at our tool lending library in Larimer. Some training is required. The GRC is open March – November.
