For all opportunities with Grow Pittsburgh, be sure to dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water and sun protection.

Monthly Volunteer Project (MVP)

Join us on Braddock Farms for an early Saturday morning volunteering project. Help out with the farm tasks, take a tour with our staff and finish out your productive morning by shopping at the Braddock Farmstand.

Apply to become a Workshare Volunteer

Interested in farming for food? The workshare program is for anyone who wants to volunteer at our urban farm sites: Shiloh Farm or Braddock Farm. Workshares commit to 4 hours/week on one of the sites for the duration of the growing season which runs from May through October. In exchange for their hard work, workshares provided a weekly CSA share of fresh, farm-grown produce.

Shiloh application coming soon!

Apply to become a Pre-apprentice

The pre-apprenticeship is a program in partnership with Pasa Sustainable Agriculture for those who have little or no growing experience but are interested in exploring a farming career.  This is a two-year program, where participants will volunteer four hours per week on our farm sites doing a variety of farm tasks and receive a share of vegetables as well as free admission to relevant workshops and conferences.
